Speed's dam, Sebastienne

We fell in love with Speed's dam, Sebastienne as a first freshening 2 yr. old. Sebastienne is wide, deep, powerful and very correct with an extremely snuggly attached mammary system that is particularly strong in height and width of rear udder while carrying a superlative udder floor, medial and teat size, shape and placement.  Speed is a buck that shows alot of influence in the phentoype of his dam, he is extremely large, stretchy and elevated.  He is structurally very sound and we could not be more pleased with him.  Speeds first milking daughters are impressive milking yearlings.  We only freshened two of them and they are both still here!  Speed is a buck who can be counted in to throw size, (very elevated front ends) style, bone and mammary systems.  He particularly has a forte for superb rear udder width and arch and nicely placed teats of attractive size and shape.  The fore udders have been very snug and wide as well.  We didnt get alot of use from Speed this year as he spent the heart of the breeding season in Jonathan Blands' Pearl Valley herd in a breeding trade with Quint.  We have a couple does bred to him and did use his son.  We look forward to freshening more daughters in the Spring.

Ronyx pedigree contains the best of the best in purebred alpines.  Ronyx is a welcomed addition as our new Jr. Herdsire.  We have always been admirers of Robena and when she was bred to Jasper we knew we wanted to incorporate him into our breeding program.  He also traces back to our California Gold, one of GoldenLark's proven sons.  Ronyx is uphill, dairy, with a particularly long lean neck and very correct front end assembly-tracking extremely well with very nice foreleg positioning.  We look forward to his first kids in 2009. Ronyx did not bless us with but 2 doe kids.  Both were pre-oredered so unfortunately we will not be seeing mammary systems from him this year.  His sister freshened with a gorgeous udder, so we feel good about him if we can get some doe kids!

We have always been admirers of Sine Qua Non and when the opportunity came up to be able to use this buckling live we were thrilled to say the least.  Quint is an angular dairy buck with extremely correct set to the hock and front end structure.  We look forward to his kids in the spring.  Thanks Jonathan for your generosity!!

Kinfolk is one of those bucks who happened to get the best of both his dam and his sire in his phenotype.  He has his dams gorgeous feet and legs, rump and dairyness and Speed's bone, width and color.  He inherits his uphill look from both sides of the pedigree.  To say the least, he is one beautiful animal and probably one of the most striking bucks we have ever had here at the farm.  It was hard to use Kinfolk and his sire both on this tiny herd, but felt we just had to keep this buck and make a few matings that we have confidence in the resulting offspring.

Halston is the littermate brother to one of our favorite Rico daughters, CH Hoach's SRS Hi-Class.  He also was a very prepotent sire in the Alpine Valley herd and had numerous quality daughters.  This breeding to Savoir Faire was a breeding that we put alot of thought into and we are excited to see the resulting offspring.

Long admirers of Night Fever and Night Deposit's brother Night Hawk's daughters we always wanted to inorporate this buck.  He is known for style, balance and beautiful, shapely mammary systems.  We have now seen a few daughters from Depo and liked them enought to use him and will use him more in the future.

Jaegar is a buck that we have admired the width, spring, constitutional strength and power as shown through the female forebearers in his pedigree.  We are excited to have a look at what we think is an excellent breeding for Heredity.
